Expanding Your Horizons ™ (EYH)
is a conference for young women in 6th, 7th and 8th grade to learn about career
opportunities in math and science. Science and math careers are fun, exciting,
and rewarding, and so is EYH! Conference participants conduct lab experiments,
examine microscopic creatures, and solve mysteries using evidence. EYH
celebrates its 25th year in the Salem-Keizer area. Thousands of
girls have participated locally and nationwide. Each girl attends three
hands-on workshops led by professional female role models who use math and
science in their jobs on a daily basis. Conference participants are assisted on
the Willamette University campus by members of the High School Girls Planning
Committee and the adult EYH/AAUW Committee.
